About Julie Lucio Richter

Contact us today for efficient and compassionate family law mediations to resolve your family law litigation.

Since 2006, Julie Lucio Richter has been a practicing family law attorney, with offices in Collin and Dallas Counties. Julie divides her time between the courtroom and her offices where she mediates family law cases for individuals who are involved in family law litigation (divorce, child custody, child support).

In 2012, Julie became board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Family Law. This achievement is only accomplished by approximately 1% of all Texas attorneys, and furthermore it is the requirement that an attorney must satisfy in order to hold themselves out as an “expert” and/or “specialist” in the area of family law.

In addition to her legal expertise, Julie holds two degrees in psychology: Bachelor’s Degree, 1994--Psychology, and a Master’s Degree, 1997-- Clinical Psychology. She has counseled individuals, couples, and children and also worked part-time as a college psychology professor for 10 years, teaching the following courses on a regular basis: General Psychology, Social Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychology, Theories of Personality Development, and Abnormal Psychology.

With Julie’s training and experience in family law, combined with her degrees in psychology, Julie is incredibly effective when it comes to settling family law cases and she does so with compassion and understanding. She attributes the latter as the key to her success in settling approximately 97% of all cases that she mediates.

When Julie is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family which includes a husband, who is also an attorney, and a judge, and their 5 children, that range in age from 17 to 31 and her 2 grandchildren who are an active set of twin boys who are 5 years old. (2023) She also thoroughly enjoys raising her two English Bulldogs, Clarabelle and Betty Jo, although she doesn’t appreciate their habit of snoring loudly when they sleep. Julie also enjoys learning new skills and hobbies. She has accrued quite the list of activities that she can rely on when she ever gets time off: Playing piano, crocheting, cake decorating, dog training, painting and art and audiobooks.
